The term microcomputer is not as commonly used as it was during the ss. We now refer to microcomputers as, simply, computers, or personal. FREE online courses on the Basics of a Computer - MICROCOMPUTER. Computers are variously classified as super, mainframe, mini, and microcomputers. The classification is based principally on computing power (a combination of processing capability and memory availability). There are differences in physical size and also vast differences in cost.
